Event: British School Speech day 2010

Speech Day and Prize giving at the British School of Paris on Friday 2 July.

The Paris Branch has a strong link with the British School through the Poppy Appeal and, since 1997, has annually awarded the Royal British Legion Shield for Music.

This year's prize went to George Buckmaster seen receiving the award here:

.  The guest Speaker on this occasion was Iwan Thomas MBE, former 400m European Champion, Commonwealth Champion, World Cup winner and current British Record Holder.

Unfortunately Iwan has had to give up running due to injury.  He is, however, a very personable character and his ability to overcome his own problems perhaps made him even more impressive when he encouraged the BSP students to work towards defined goals which could be realistically achieved through hard work.
