Paris Branch

History - Rue Boudreau to Acacias

In 1928, the Paris Branch acquired a lease on premises in rue Boudreau in the centre of Paris and finally managed to purchase the property in December 1953. Apart from 1940 to 1944, it occupied these premises which functioned as a club-room and headquarters until 2009 when the branch moved to its current address; 28 rue des Acacias, Paris 75017.

Paris headquarters were naturally evacuated in 1940, but the Paris Branch was not out of action. It set itself up in exile in London, and held meetings throughout the war, and on at least one occasion the guest of honour was General Charles de Gaulle. Unfortunately, no written record of this period has survived.
